JBWere Masters sign an extended three year contract with Victoria Golf Club
2011 JBWere Masters will take place at the Victoria Golf Club from December 15-18 and it will follow the same schedule for the next three years according to IMG, the owner/promoter of the event. The tournament, taking place under
the banner of Professional Golf Association (PGA) Tour Australia, is one of the flagship events on the circuit.
Paul Heath, Managing Director and CEO of JBWere addressed a press conference on Tuesday in which he said, “JBWere is enormously proud to be partnering with such a prestigious sporting event, and we look forward to welcoming some
of the world’s best golfers to Victoria Golf Club this December.”
He expressed delight in continued partnership with the tour and said that his team valued the close association with the Masters, as it benefited them in promoting their brand massively.
He added, “We see a natural synergy between the Masters and JBWere – we both share long standing traditions, strong reputations, are considered world class in our respective fields, attract the best talent and maintain a commitment
to excellence.”
Present in the conference was Minister for Tourism and Major events, Hon Louise Asher, who added to the statement given by Heath that he was thankful for his company to sponsor such an important event. He said that JBWere Masters
was a powerful platform to publicize the magnificent courses of Australia to the world. He also thanked the excellent facilities provided at the Victoria Golf Club that actually became the reason behind the deal extension of the tournament.
Louise added that such events were a source of entertainment for Australians and exposed them to different cultures through players from all over the world. In addition to that, the tournament created a platform for Australian
children to pursue golf as a sport.
Last year’s JBWere Masters was attended by the top guns of golf such as Tiger Woods, Ian Poulter, Adam Scott and Stuart Appleby. Appleby managed to conquer the course and became an icon of inspiration for the young Australians,
who now see a chance to play next to the legends of golf.
