I like to buy my kids school clothes and supplies in Medford Oregon!...well, we go to a mall called the Rogue Valley Mall...well they have a JCPenny! We shopped their and purchased over 100.00 worth of clothes! The guy charged us for 3 shirts (2 for $10 or 5.99 each)...well we only purchased 2 shirts for a total of 10.00! We are now back in red bluff california (35 miles south of redding california). I'm not going to drive another 3 hours back to Medford just for 5.99....thier is a JCPenny in Redding though...what could I do to get my money back on the shirt I never purchased?

  1. If you have a receipt it should't be a problem.  Tell the cashieer where you purchased it and they should be able to take care of you.  If they don't, make a fuss and it will be taken care of.

By the way, take everything you purchased in with you.

  2. First thing is to go to the store in Redding and see if they will take care of you. Many times managers will take care of their customers, even if another store made the mistake. Since it would be an inventory issue by not having that shirt to return, you might have to ask for a manager. Be sure to work your way up. For the price of 5.99, I can't see why they wouldn't just take care of you. Of course, it depends on the manager, too. I wouldn't bother taking the other items with you if it is a problem. As a manager for Mervyn's, it would not have been helpful or necessary for a customer to bring back all their items. After all, they could fake it anyway, and it would be ridiculous to make you bring everything back in. That is your option.

Hopefully they will refund, and that will be the end of it. If not, there are other options.

    Mt Shasta Mall

If it was a credit card purchase, you can always challenge it through your card service. Visa and MC are good about taking care of things like that.

First, though, I would call the toll free customer service number 1-800-322-1189 and explain to them what happened. They may have you return directly, or just take it to the store in Redding next time you are there.

If you charged it and they won't take care of you, tell them you will challenge it, and it will cost them more than just giving you a refund. If the person still does not take care of you, ask for a supervisor. Keep asking for supervisors until you get what you want, and keep calling them. It's more than just the cost of the shirt, it's the principle of it lol.

If they really want to be jerks, you can also report them to the Oregon state offices at http://www.oregon.gov/menutopic/public_s... Take your pick lol

    Good luck
