What kind of JDM Engine will fit in my Nissan. Engine is blown and I dont even know if it is worth the money to fix. I would like to get a new engine because the interior and exterior of the car is beautiful. Its a 1.6 L That's in there now.

  1. A 1997 What Sentra or 200SX?

  2. I'm guessing it's a Sentra? The stock is a GA16DE, the SR20DE was availible in SE-R trim on your car and would be the easiest swap and has 25hp more. The JDM SR20DET off of the Silvia or another Japanese market car would be a fairly easy swap I'd think and has 60 to 105 more horsepower depending on what car it came off of. More info is available here.

You could also probably swap in a KA24DE since they fit in the American version of the Silvia, the 240SX. They make 155hp (15 more than an SR20DE). A CA18DET may work as well as it was used in the Australian version of the Silvia, the 180SX. The CA is essentially a Skyline RB engine with 4 cylinders as opposed to 6. They were replaced by SR20DETs to cut costs so you know they are pretty good if Nissan thought it would be cheaper to make a new engine than continue using the one they had.
