  1. I say get a closer and improve your hitters. They say Mike Gonzalez is cool, I'd pick him up.

  2. I'd rather have Halliday than those 3 any day, let alone giving up a guy like Beltran in the deal. It's fine to trade a closer, but I won't give up so much for one. You could trade Beltran for a bottom tier closer (M. Gonzalez, Torres, Rauch, Gregg, etc) and a replacement at 3B (like Longeria or Gordon).

  3. I think its a very good trade. Markakis should hit about 30 home runs this year when Beltran is missing. Figgins should steal about 50 babes or so.This will also fill your void for stolen bases when Beltran

  4. hard to tell with no clue what the scoring of the league is

it might be great, it might be sucky. in the dark, i lean towards sucky.

  5. Yeah, you get a closer and better hitting (things you need)

  6. if Mike Gonzalez is available i would take him and don't give up any players

  7. I wouldnt do this deal. The one factor that might be the most importrant is the fact that the Rockies could very soon go into sale mode and Fuentes will be a sought after target. The problem with that is he very easily could go somewhere to be a 8th inning setup guy, it is a job he has done very well in the past. Now you have the same problem, no more closer opportunities for Fuentes. Plus Halliday is by far your best starter so dealing him leaves you with a hole in your starter group....a big hole. I would be inclined to shop one of your outfielders for a midlevel closer, someone who has depth at 3rd as well and offer a straight up 2 for 2 deal with maybe Beltran and Reynolds for ( Lidge, Jenks, B.J. Ryan, Hoffman, or someone along those lines) and a solid 3rd sacker. Or see if Morrow is available in your free agent pool.

  8. DON'T DO IT!!!! beltran is starting up again and should do much better than marakis, and halliday is a great strating pitcher who i would take anyday over figgins.  Fuentes doesnt get that many save oppurtunities anhow so he wouldn't give you much help in the relief spot
