I'm only running a JL Audio 500/1 amp. I'm also using a 1 farad Fosgate capacitor and 4 awg. wire. My intentions are to use only one 12" sub. I am completely undecided. Of course I want a 12 at 500 RMS. Here's where I am at w/ some sort of a decision. Rockford Fosgate P3, MA Audio XL, or Alpine Type R. I am open to all advice, new options of the same category, and explanations of why you suggest your opinion. Thanks!

  1. For get the P3, get the T2. Also you really do not have any need for the cap unless your in DB Drag comps. Besides the 1 farred cap is only for peple that are running at least 1000 watts RMS. Seeing how your only using a 500/1 amp for a sub, I doubt that your even hitting 1000 watts RMS, and that is including the rest of the speakers in your car.

  2. I really like the Kicker CVRs and the Image dynamics IDQs. ( http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuse... )

The reason I like them is basically because the products from both companies keep getting better. Alpine, rockford and MA have all seemed to take a step back over the past few years.

Another couple of companies to look at are Fi audio and Digital Designs.

  3. I dont know a lot about those speakers but I would just get a square 12. My friend used to have just one and it would hit harder than 2 15's. Of coarse if you use a good amp and speakers it will always hit good.
