In the wake of that big fine for Yuko Mitsuka, who was fined £14,000 for walking off the course after receiving a fine for slow play, is the Japanese tour usually so tough on players?

Undoubtedly. In 2006 they banned a player for 10 years after she falsified a scorecard!
