JMC Jimmy radio not working?

I Just bought a 2000 GMC Jimmy, and i cant get the radio display to show me the time or what station I'm on. When I turn the car on, the display just shows the letters "Err" which I think could mean error, but I'm not sure. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, help would be greatly appreciated.

err - means error.

disconnet the unit and rewire it - the station memory will be lost and you may have to store than once again but the unit will reset itself to default settings and the problem will get solved.
