If an application says, "Must be 18 years or older to work for..." does that mean that I can not get a job there even when a work permit?

  1. yes it does.  Each employer sets their own age limit, so you will not be interviewed at that location!


  2. That means there may also be a government regulation against hiring underage workers for that position or a preference for hiring an adult.  

    You would be best off looking at a site like http://snagajob.com which is geared toward entry level job seekers.  

    I have included a few sources that may help you find that 1st job.
