The best way to find jobs in this field is by getting to know people who are already working in it. Find some smaller theater companies in your community and ask if they could use an intern or volunteer help. Then learn as much as you possibly can, and be nice. If there's a particular area you'd like to focus on (sets, lights, acting, costumes) see if you can be an assistant to the person in charge of that area - that's how you will learn the most. You can also study theatre - many colleges have performing arts programs, including community colleges. You will not be able to get a paid job in theatre without first having some experience and/or education.
