JP Duminy’s absence is quite sad, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Faf-du-Plessis-c1427 – Cricket News Update
South Africa’s middle-order batsman, Faf du Plessis, is extremely disappointed that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JP-Duminy-c1742 was ruled out of the on-going series because of an ankle injury and expressed that the left-hander was in great form before the first Test
at Brisbane.
Duminy twisted his ankle during training after the first day’s play of the Brisbane Test, taking no further part in the match and was also ruled out of the series. Young left-handed batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dean-Elgar-c1351 was included in the squad in place
of the injured middle-order batsman.
Du Plessis made his Test debut in the second match at the Adelaide Oval, as Duminy’s replacement in the playing eleven. The right-hander made the most of the opportunity, scoring a match-saving unbeaten century in the second innings
to go with a fifty in the first and was rightly named as the Player of the Match.
The cricketer from Pretoria has cemented his place in the Proteas line-up, having done well in the third Test as well. However, the 28-year-old cricketer feels sad for Duminy and feels that the left-hander was all set to score a lot
of runs against Australia.
“I was genuinely happy to just be in the squad and to carry the drinks,'' du Plessis told
The Natal Mercury. “Im a big believer that you've got to earn your stripes in order to play. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jai-Prakash-Yadav-c65330 had been hitting the ball so beautifully in the nets and I remember saying to him that he was going to have a great series. I'm really gutted for him.”
Duminy has so far played 17 Tests, 94 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 42 T20 Internationals for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, having scored more than four thousand runs at the highest level of the sport, with the help of four hundreds and 23 half-centuries.
Du Plessis has played quite aggressively against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s off-spinner, Nathan Lyon, and revealed that it was a part of his game-plan to go after the slow bowler.
“I had a chat with (coach) http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Michael-Lyon-c78822), using my feet to him,” the middle-order batsman.
