JT is a career backup.  Smith will become the starter in a few weeks after he learns the system better.

He's shown that he can move the ball down field, which Smith hasn't done in 3 years! Hill is a good backup to JT. It will be an exciting year with JT and Martz. Nolan's a bust and if it wasn't for all that signing money, I'd say Smith got cheated, with having no coaching for 3 years.
