It takes me forever to mess about with it an transfer it to my mac. I think it will be easier to upload from a DVD. I did end up buying a new camcorder with a firewire but since im giving my other one to family, i will still have to do the dvd stuff for them. Also wondering if i can transfer it to a dvd recorder myself? havent even looked to see if its possible yet but it did occur to me earlier!

  1. Hi Willow,

I also use the JVC HDD camcorder. Your solution would be a DVD recorder (the type that fits under the TV) and a set of leads from the camcorder to the input on the DVD recorder.

Set the camcorder to play and start recording onto the DVD, the transfer is in real-time (each hour of film takes an hour to record) and once finished just remember to finalise the DVD (the manual tells you how) so you can play it on any DVD player.

    Hope it helps

    Tony
