JVC-DVP5E camcorder....LCD screen stopped working?

Question

I know it's an older model,had it for years,but anyone know if it is repairable and if so how much would it cost? More than getting a new one I expect but thought I'd ask before I go out and get a new one!!

I have a sony and the LCD just stopped working and it is about 5 yrs old, but was only used maybe 10 times. When I called sony they tell me the main part of the camcorder (motherboard) has gone bad and it will cost me around $150.00.
