JVC Everio GZ-HD7 as WebCam?

I'm trying to use my JVC Everio GZ-HD7 camcorder as a webcam, but I'm having problems.

I'm using a firewire cable connected to my Sony Vaio NR notebook running Windows Vista. I've changed the video output setting on my camcorder to I-Link (firewire) and my computer along with AIM, Skype, and dv-camcorder-to-webcam-conversion programs like WebcamDV recognize it, so no problems there. But when I run it, I get a black screen. No video or audio whatsoever.

Does anybody have solutions or suggestions?

i suggest connecting with usb instead
