JVC GZ-HD7 filter?

Question

Is it possible to unscrew the JVC GZ-HD7's lens hood and and use a filter (such as UV filter)? If so, can we put back the lens hood when using a filter?

With my JVC camera I screwed on a filter over the lens hood. I was not able to remove it but it got the job done.

I don't have an HD7, but from the pictures I found looks like you should be able to just snap it off or perhaps unscrew it. Is there a small s***w on either side of the lens hood? Usually most cameras with hoods will be able to detach them by using that. If it is attached directly to the lens via the lens filter, as long as the filter you attach also has threads, you should be able to attach the lens hood back on. Sorry I can't give you a better answer, but hopefully this helps a bit.
