I have videos on this video camera that I wish to upload onto a CD or at least on the computer, but they don't read at all! How do I get them to read? I really want to do this, because I want to make more memorable videos, but I can't because I have no way of keeping them as such! Someone help me here...

  1. JVC Everio creates 2 files for each video clip: MOD file (Video-MPEG2-PS & Audio-Dolby Digital AC-3) & MOI file (info like date/time & aspect ratio). The .MOD file extension can be renamed to .MPG to view the footage; however, audio will not accompany the file. When split, clips can't be imported into editing application w/o first using converter app–> to create a unified MPEG-2 file. Check clarification on JVC .mod, together with Carol's helpful learning on MOD conversion using Prism. http://www.dotwhat.net/lang_eng/files_m/...

    or

These video editing apps accept direct import of .MOD files w/o conversion: JVC supplied Cyberlink:Power Director Xpress, Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0,  Avid Liquid 7.2,  Sony Vegas 7.0e.
