I switch on the TV on the set and the standby red light is on. When I use the remote or the channel controls on the TV to switch it on, it powers up for a split second - I hear the audio from the channel - and then it goes to sleep, with an orange light flashing on the set, marked On TImer.
Once in a while it is able to come to life properly but we can't find how to neutralize this timer operation and the problem then returns.
This model is at least 12 years old, by the way.
