JVC camcorder?

i have a JVC GR-D70 camcorder (quite a relic , i know), where on Earth (or the internet) can i get a copy of the installation software that came with the camcorder? The JVC site is Cr4p as is the customer support...

i want to be able to transfer the video onto my pc. via USB.

  1. not a relic, i have a JVC of the same vintage.

    all miniDV transfers video by "firewire" (aka ilink or ieee1394) to the computer, that is part of the specifications of the DV system.  you don't need a driver for this.

    the USB port is for transfer of still pictures from the mmc only. you need a USB driver if you are using Windows 98SE, otherwise newer computers should recognize mass storage automatically. another way to take files off the mmc is to use a card reader.  the still pictures are stored as jpeg just like any other digital camera.
