JVC camcorder won't connect to iMovie...?

Question

The camera always works, just not now when I happen to need it for a HUGE project lol...

Anyway, it's connected with the firewire and everything. The camcorder plays the tape and the imovie screen is still blue with "No Camera Attached"... I bought a brand new cable even and it still doesn't work so I'm guessing it's either the camera or the computer or the imovie... can anyone suggest anything??

are you using the cord supplied with the camera? cos if you are this is actually the usb cable and not the firewire.

usb is a skinny cord with a flat plug on one end and a small d shaped plug. firewire on the other hand is thicker, has a large D shaped plug on one end with a mini plug on the other end.

the jvc should have both usb and fw options.

imovie doesn't recognise usb as easily. so go to your computer store and ask for a 6 pin to 4 pin firewire lead.
