  1. The Everio series saves your video as MPEG which is a common file type with lots of compression so why would you want to change it to any other format ? It's fine as it is and dead easy to transfer to your computer & then if you use a decent editing programme you can make excellent quality DVDs. I use my JVC cam exclusively these days and am ready to bin the Sony & Panasonic that are getting a bit outdated now. The software that is provided with the Everio series is Cyberlink Power Director which though adequate is not a patch on the one I have been using for many years, Ulead videostudio, which you can download a free 14day unrestricted trial from www.corel.co.uk. DVD players read files called DVD Video & both Ulead & Cyberlink programmes burn the disks in this format. if you want to email video then most programmes  will convert your MPEG files to either WMF or AVI for video streaming. If you need further help feel free to message me & I'll try to explain in more depth.
