I was just reading a verse posted by a JW. I find the NWT version of the verse interesting. Doesn't this verse once again say Jesus is God?

John 1:18 No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him.

  1. Yes, Jesus is God, God Almighty. The only true God

  2. Unfair- you post from my answer and don't let me know? :P

How does that say Jesus is God?

    Has anyone seen God?

No. It clearly says "No one has seen God"

    Did anyone see Jesus? Yes.

So how can Jesus be God?

  3. lol, it reads that way to me.  I do the same thing, lol!  Notice when they have a quesiton they can't answer or are caught in a lie because of false teaching, it's called unfair or they modify their answers.

  4. Jesus is described as having “a glory such as belongs to an only-begotten son from a father.” He is said to reside “in the bosom position with the Father.” (John 1:14, 18) His relationship with the Father is a close, confidential, tender one. He shares his Father’s love for humankind. Proverbs 8:30, 31 expresses how his Father feels about this Son and how the Son feels about humankind: “I came to be the one he [Jehovah] was specially fond of day by day, I being glad before him all the time, . . . and the things I [Jesus, Jehovah’s Master Worker, the personification of wisdom] was fond of were with the sons of men.” It was this most precious Son that God sent to earth to provide the ransom. How meaningful, therefore, is Jesus’ statement: “God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son”!—John 3:16.

The Bible teaches that the Son ‘fully knows’ the Father and that the Son is “the one that has explained him.” (Matthew 11:27; John 1:14, 18)

  5. If your question implies that if Jesus is the God Almighty (or he is Jehovah as well, or part of the trinity), the answer is NO!

The Bible made reference to Jesus as God (John 1:1) and Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6).

But this does not render that he has the same Godship of that of Jehovah.  Jehovah is the one called Almighty.

Using your premise: "you are american cause your father is american...Jesus is a god cause his father Jehovah is a god"

Yes Jesus is in the form of God since his Father is God (even the angles who said to be sons of God are also called elohim or gods),

but in your premise, is a son greater than his father though they are both americans?  Definitely not. Same thing with Jesusm though in the form of God, does not make him the Almighty or make him have Jehovah's godship.

  6. Jesus is God this is what I strongly believe and if you are a Christian you also will believe in that.

John 1:1 - "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."( point to note that in a JW's bible it is changed and written a god, thus they are known to add and subtract)

John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."

John 5:18 - "For this cause therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God."

John 8:24 - "I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins."

John 8:58 - "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.'"

Exodus 3:14 - "And God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM'; and He said, Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’"

John 10:30-33 - "I and the Father are one." 31The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God."

John 20:28 - "Thomas answered and said to Him, "My Lord and my God!"

Jesus said to worship God only, yet He receives worship.

Matt. 4:10 - "Then Jesus *said to him, 'Begone, Satan! For it is written, "You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only."’"

Matt. 2:2 - "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east, and have come to worship Him."

Matt. 2:11 - "And they came into the house and saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell down and worshiped Him; and opening their treasures they presented to Him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh."

Matt. 14:33 - "And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, "You are certainly God’s Son!"

Matt. 28:9 - "And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him."

John 9:35-38 - "Jesus heard that they had put him out; and finding him, He said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" 36He answered and said, "And who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" 37Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you." 38 And he said, "Lord, I believe." And he worshiped Him."

LUKE18:11-18"There were ten men who were healed where are the other nine?.Why is this foreigner the only one who came back to give thanks to God?"

People have seen God  if you have read THE BIBLE for Instance Abraham,( in one occasion God comes down in person to speak with him and HE even eats with him),Moses saw God and spoke to HIM, Jacob fought God in his dream these people saw God.

  7. First off, Jesus is Jehovah God, the Almighty. Jesus is NOT his own Father. This heresy comes from a total misrepresentation, and misunderstanding of the Holy Trinity.

In the Holy Trinity, three seperate people are one God. The Son (Jesus) is eternally begotten by the Father (That is, he is Not created but the phrase 'begotten' refers to their relationship as Father and Son). The Holy Spirit is proceeding from the Father. The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. There is not three Gods but ONE God. Jesus is the Son of the Father, and because the Father is God, Jesus is the Son of God. That doesn't mean that Jesus is his own Son, nor that the Father is his own Father.

Some people might ask "How are the Three people one God?"

The Simple answer is that nobody knows, as to know the exact relationship between the persons of God, would be to know the mind of God. Nobody can no the mind of God, but God himself. This is why Jesus says: "No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him." (Matt. 11:27B)

  8. All Christians believe Jesus is God. Obviously people like you cannot comprehend such complex concepts.

  9. Jesus is God but while on earth He was a little lower then the angels as the book of Hebrews Chapter 1 testifies. Now if Jehovah's witness would take that great truth into consideration then more then half of what stumbles them would be resolved then maybe we could work on the other half.Because when he said "The Father is greater then I am "That is true concerning the fact that he was at the time lower then the angels when He said it a man of flesh and blood. However if they cannot understand  that one very simple point and are blinded to the simpleness of the TRUTH of this statement then we have little that can be done to open their eyes to the rest.Only God can remove the scales we cannot .

  10. Jesus was on earth for part of his life. We know this because multiple people recorded seeing him and what he did while here.  "No man has seen God at any time." so how could he have been seen if he were god?

  11. Yup, Jesus is God!!!  :)

Hebrews 7:3 - Jesus had no beginning, nor end

Micah 5:2 - From early times, from the days of time indefinite

(Compare with Habakkuk 1:12 and Psalm 93:2 about Jehovah.)

Hebrews 9:11-12 - Not of this creation

John 1:3 All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence.

    Hebrews 3:3-4 - Jesus/God created everything.

Rev. 1: 17,18 - Jesus is the First and the Last (Compare with Rev 22:13 - Jehovah is the First and the Last. How can there be more than one First? more than one Last?)

Phil 2:6 He was existing in God’s form.

    (Compare with Isaiah 43:10)

Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

(NOT an angel turned man turned back to angel.)

Hebrews 2:5 - It is not to angels that He has subjected the earth to

Hebrews 1:6 - All the angels did obeisance/worshipped Jesus

(so then did He do obeisance/worship Himself?)

Isaiah 9:6 - Mighty God, Eternal Father

Isaiah 7:14/Mt 1:23 - Immanuel: God With Us

John 20:28 - Jesus is "the Lord of me and the God of me."

John 10:30 - Jesus and the Father are one.

Don't EVER stop questioning religious leaders.

Acts 17:11 - Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

Did you catch that? The Bereans were NOBLE for questioning an APOSTLE, to see if anything he said wasn't accurate according to GOD's WORD!!!

So if is noble to question an Apostle, it is ALSO noble to question the Governing Body, pope, or any other religious leader. And any religious leader telling you otherwise should be a strong warning to run the other way! Do NOT be misled!

    _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

These words are not mine, but I hope you'll find them helpful! :)

All religions have one thing in common: they encourage their members to work as hard as they can to gain everlasting life, the celestial kingdom, nirvana, or whatever else they want to call it.

Biblical Christianity, however, is different. Instead of earning our goal as a reward, it is offered to us freely as a gift through Jesus Christ as the perfect sacrifice, whose offering of Himself was complete to earn our way to everlasting life with God the Father.

As Jesus Christ was dying, he said “It is finished” because from that point on, all anyone had to do was to trust His sacrifice to cover their sins. Everyone needs this sacrifice because the Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that we are all sinners.

We are in such bad condition that when we try to earn favor with God through our good works, Isaiah 64:6 tells us that our righteous deeds are like filthy rags to God. In Mark 10:27 Jesus is answering His disciples’ question, “who then can be saved?” He said, “with man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.”

God realizes that man cannot possibly save himself through door-to-door preaching or ordinances of a church. That’s why God did not send an organization or a church to offer us peace with God, but He sent His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but through me.”
