Jack Graham resolves to rejuvenate Colorado State University’s Athletic department
Reputation of universities is built on the performance of their students in all walks of life. Perhaps that is the reason that, while they spend endlessly on their pupils’ education, they go to considerable lengths to make their athletic departments dynamic.
Recently, with Jack Graham taking charge of the athletics department of the Colorado State University (CSU), it is expected that the performance of the university’s athletes will significantly improve over time.
The decision for having a new Director Athletics was made after a sustained dismal performance on part of the university athletes.
Toney Frank, President of the University, has attached high hopes from the performance of the 59-year-old athletics veteran, Jack Graham, who is also the university’s former football player.
While announcing the new name to be put into the saddle, Frank said during a press conference, “I was interested in finding someone who really treasured and valued CSU and was connected to our values and our ethics as an institution. I think I found that
man in Jack Graham”.
Graham highlighted his long association with the university. He graduated back in 1975 and represented its football team in 1973-74.
He said, “I personally got a great education (at CSU), and when I left CSU in 1975, I was well equipped to go into workforce. I have personal experiences that have substantiated just how great an institution Colorado State University is”.
Besides the athletic acumen Graham owns, Frank believes that his profound success in business will also help the athletic department of the CSU to experience a new era of success.
Acknowledging the past success of the new director, Frank admitted that Graham’s experience as a successful athlete and a business man speaks volumes about the leadership skills he possesses.
Thus, he had sound reasons to believe that the guy had the capabilities to energize the department and to rejuvenate the university’s overall athletics programme.
Prior to receiving the offer from CSU, Graham had plans for spending a retired life in his house in the country side. However, the offer made by CSU was rather great and he did not feel like turning it down.
The current responsibility has extended a chance for the veteran businessman to do something for an institute that established the foundation for his successful professional life.
