Jack Johnson(1910)vEvander Holyfield(1992)?

Question

How would the giant go agaist an all time great like 'The Real Deal'Holyfield.If,as some reckon,Johnson deserves a place in histories top 5 heavies and would KO Mike Tysonwithin a round!!,then he should dispose of Evander pretty quickly,or would he?

They fought in different time frames, johnson fought at atime when boxing was young and still rudimental.evander fought in a time when boxing had already evolved and he has faced A LOT of tough heavy weight fighters in his career, evander wouldwin this fight, he was in better shape,faster and just as good technically.

I'm going with Evander on this one. Like Maurice says he has the heart of a champion and I just don't think he'd let Johnson beat him. The fight would be close but Holyfield would have the edge and would win by decsion or late TKO/KO.

Johnson wasn't a knock out artist.  Johnson might win by decision but I don't think he would win by KO.  This bout would be very close and could go either way.

unlike tyson, holyfield had the heart of a champion....with that said, johnson would win over the distance.

It was a different era and there was no neutral corner on a knock down, when a man was floored the other fighter would plow into him and continue to slug.The gloves were smaller and that caused a harder punch with a lighter glove, they used 6 once gloves at that time.I don;t recall if there was 3 minute rounds in the early days and 30 round fights were common in those days.The last fight I recall that was scheduled for 20 rounds was Louis vs. Farr in the late 1930's.I would say Johnson and Holyfield in a no contest, draw after 15 rounds, in a tough bloody fight

COME ON NOW you talking about the GEORGIA BULLDOG... the man came from crusier weight to hold a heavy weight belt... the man has massive speed manveruabilty ( spell check ) power   , adjusment.... jack johnson was bad but holyfield has chin HAS THE BIGGEST HEART OF ANY FIGHTER Johnson would not win NOT IN DECISION OR A KNOCK OUT...

Im not so sure about this. I mean yea Evander had some mad heart almost un-matched but back then...the conditioning these fighters had was unreal i mean sanctioned fights back then could go for up to 30+ rounds! Though Johnson's character is questionable, a very sore loser whcih could make him determined to win. Both have unbelievable power! I'd say Holyfield UD/MD after 12 rounds

Evander far to strong for Johnson and whoever thinks Johnson would KO Mike is not of this planet!inside a round?Evander would go about his business as he does,grind Johnson into a corner and then beat him up and finish the fight by KO,round 7 or 8.
