He has emphasized young girls specifically to enter the domain of golf and pursue their dreams while Jack supports them in every way possible.
Speaking of Jack Newton, this man has been an inspiration to millions of people in Australia and all over the planet with his golf skills and undying will power.
Jack started his professional golf career in 1971. His career holds one PGA Tour win, three European Tour wins and four PGA Australasia wins.
In 1979, he accomplished PGA Tour of Australia’s Order of Merit. His career is considered as the pillar of Australian golf at the time when cricket was the top game in the country. Jack made golf a sport that became famous and enjoyable for people who did not know a single thing about it.
Jack was on top of his life and his career until summer 1983 when he had a near death experience. At the Sydney Airport, he accidentally walked into the propeller of the airplane which surprisingly was not fatal but he lost his right arm and eye.
After the propeller accident, Jack was out of sight for many years due to his injuries and went under rehabilitation. After many years, the world saw Jack back on their television screens as a golf commentator.
He is the Chairman of the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation. He also started playing golf with his one hand and did not let the injury take over his love for the game which is indeed inspiring.
These days, Jack is insisting that young girls from all over Australia should participate and should be given a chance to play golf on a professional level. His foundation has an impressive number of members that exceeds a figure of 6000 individuals.
His foundation has been a launch pad for hundreds of amateur and professional golfers to achieve their dreams.
His fund raising efforts have made a difference in thousands of lives and his efforts to promote golf among the youth of Australia, especially the young girls, has been inspirational. These efforts became the reason for Jack to be honoured with the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2007.
His life and current efforts in igniting passion and providing a road map for young golfers in Australia is inspirational, his aims are strong and these efforts will be regarded as the most important step in Australia’s golfing history.
