Jack Reed wants to lock horns with Australia again: Gillette Four Nations - Rugby
While talking to reporters on November 9, Jack Reed, who fills in for the centre position, expressed his hopes for England’s second chance against Australia in the final showdown of Gillette Four Nations.
The chance is only possible after England bags a win against New Zealand over the weekend in Hull. With over 20,000 tickets already sold, it has been speculated by the Rugby League analysts that there is going to be a huge live crowd gathered in Hull Stadium
to witness who bests the other to book their spot in the final showdown against the Kangaroos.
Prior to the encounter between the two sides, England is coming out of a recent 20-36 loss against Australia, who were undeniably far better than their opponents. However, the clash was not an easy win for Roos, as they had to put up a tough struggle against
England, who displayed a daunting performance in the second half of the game. The English side crawled back into the game pretty late and failed to convert their efforts into a win. They also fell prey to two wrong decisions by the match referee, Henry Perenara,
for which he attracted the wrath of the English side.
Expressing his thoughts about England’s current status in Gillette Four Nations, Reed said, “We were all disappointed with the loss but there's a lot of belief there that we can go up another level against New Zealand and hopefully get another crack against
Australia in the final. They're only players like us. People put them on a pedestal but there is always the opportunity to knock them off. We went into Saturday's game with a good attitude and, although we may not have got the result this time, hopefully we'll
get another chance."
He further talked about the weekend game and said that it will be a tough clash where his side is expected to put up a better perfromance against New Zealand at Hull.
Sidelining their recent loss against the the Aussies, the Brisbane Broncos centre reckoned that his side still has the right frame of mind and potential to surpass the standards of Australia, who are currently topping the Four Nations charts, with two wins
to their credit.
