Jack Wilshere career takes a major push forward
Jack Wilshere made his debut as senior member of the England national team last night. However, he found the debut a little tougher because he was asked to play as defensive midfielder.
Though he played only the first half, he was impressive. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Young-c6813 for their goals.
Nonetheless, it was notable that England team manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463 in an altogether new position, which was far more defensive than his in Arsenal. After the game, Wilshere gave vent to his concerns about not
going forward, but expressed his resolution to do anything for his country. He is reported to have said: "It's great to play for your country and I am delighted over my start and I'm glad it was a win."
"It was a difficult game but we kept the ball well and it is great to play with players like those. Not going forward was tough but it's quite similar to the role I play at Arsenal and I will play anywhere for my country."
Over the last couple of seasons, Wilshere moved from being a practically nobody to becoming among the most talked-about players in the world. In fact, some people now consider Wilshere England’s future, a tribute which has put much pressure
on him.
Capello seems to have strange fondness for the young Arsenal player, as he now thinks that England cannot and will not operate without him. The manager has even compared Wilshere to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097, Claude Makelele and Zinedine
Zidane, hinting at the great potential the young player possesses.
Wilshere made his debut for Arsenal in the 2008 season when, during his eight appearances, he scored one goal and created another. In the 2009-10 season, the player spent half of the season with Arsenal and the other half with Bolton on
loan. While at Arsenal, he made seven appearances without a goal or an assist, at Bolton he made 14 appearances, scoring one and creating another. But this season has been quite different for the young midfielder; he has managed to make 31 appearances and
score two, while creating eight others.
The drastic rise in the number of his appearances reflects that Arsenal consider him a first team player and, for a 19-year-old player at the Emirates, that is a massive step forward.
If Wilshere manages to keep up his consistency, he may emerge as one of the greatest English players.
