Jack Wilshere learning from Arsenal seniors
One of the most promising youngsters at Arsene Wenger’s disposal is Jack Wilshere. The young midfielder insists that he can do a lot more for the team if he is given proper time. He added that he has a lot to learn and he is doing
exactly that by absorbing all he can from the seniors around him. Wilshere said that when you have players like Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie around him, there is plenty to learn from them.
The teenager did get a call from England manager Fabio Capello for the Euro 2012 qualifier against Montenegro, following some impressive performances in Premier League. However he did not get a chance to play in the international
match, and was left on the bench by the manager.
Wilshere played his first game for England’s senior team earlier this season, and did benefit a lot from a loan spell away from the Emirates. He played a season with Bolton Wanderers and has comeback as a whole new player. He said
that his time at the Reebok taught him a lot; Jack said that playing at one of the bigger clubs one does not get to see and do things that a player can learn at a club like Bolton. He went on to say that he has grown as a player, and feels that he is ready
to make his name for Arsenal this season.
Arsene Wenger the team manager seems to agree with the 18 year old, he has already handed Wilshere 10 games this season, five of which he actually started. The midfielder believes that this season can be the one, where he can emerge
as player who can finally deliver on the promises made in last few years. He added that still the learning process for him is continuing and he will keep improving with every game.
"Every day you learn when you watch someone like Cesc Fabregas, though it's not just him. There are players like Samir Nasri and Denilson and you can learn anything from them," said Wilshere
"They are top class players and the best thing to do is train with them every day."
Wilshere is not the only man aspiring for big things this season; 19-year-old Henri Lansbury, is another player at the Emirates looking to make it big this season. The teenager was part of England’s Under 21 side that played against
Romania. England won 2-1 and assured themselves a spot in the main event in Denmark next year.
Lansbury scored his first goal for Arsenal in the League cup match against the fierce city rivals Tottenham Hotspur in September. Arsenal won the match 4-1, and it earned him a cameo appearance in the Champions League match against
Partizan Belgrade. The 19 year old said that there is immense competition at Arsenal, but he is not the one to shy away from that. Lansbury said that he will give it his all and fight for a place in the first team.
The attacking midfielder said that there is plenty that he has to learn at the moment, but he is sure that he will grasp all he needs to as he keeps playing for Arsenal. He added that all he can do at the moment is work hard, and
hope that the manager can see the promise in him and make him a regular fixture in the starting XI. He added that his first taste of Champions’ League was something he has never experienced before; Lansbury said that he will love to be part of the team that
takes on the best in Europe. He went on to say that, playing the biggest and toughest teams is the best way to make your name.
