Arsenal midfielder and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international, Jack Wilshere has stated that the Gunners need to show their ugly and nasty side, if they are to end their trophy drought. At the same time, the player has also gone ahead and stated that he wishes for Cesc Fabregas
to stay at the Emirates.
Following http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429’s FA Cup win in 2005, the team has gone six years without any form of silverware. This record (If you could call it a record), has gone on to throw a lot of dirt on Arsene Wenger and his men.
However, Wilshere strongly feels that should the team get a little bit more physical, when on the pitch, they could develop the dominance that seems to have been lacking for so long.
When talking about Arsenal’s upcoming season, Wilshere is quoted to have said: “We have to be more of a team, be more aggressive, show more authority and take control a bit more. You see other teams pressuring officials and sometimes I think, ‘We need
to do it as well’. Manchester United are the best at it. They get round the referee all the time.”
“We have to be a bit nastier, especially on set-pieces, because we’ve conceded too many goals from set-pieces.”
The player then went on to state, that he hopes for Cesc Fabregas to stick around the club at least for a little longer.
Wilshere then went on to add: “I hope we can keep Cesc Fabregas, for a start. He’s been a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 example to me on and off the pitch.
“He’s our best player. In some of our games he has been our best player by a mile, and we need to keep our best players if we want to win things."
From the looks of things, Wilshere is showing that he is one of the most mature teenagers in the world at the moment. Apart from being one of the best players on display for the Gunners all season long, the player has now come forth and stated, what is probably
the best analysis and game plan for the Gunners for the future.
Far too often, the Arsenal squad have been on the back foot, from being pushed around all over the place and not doing anything in return. However, should the team continue to do that, they are not going to be winning anything, anything soon. On the other
hand, should they go on and get back at their opponents, they could potentially finally break the curse that they seem to be under.
When talking about Fabregas, it is still quite unclear as to what the future holds for him. Following another disappointing season with the Gunners, the player might just be urged to call it quits on his career as a Gunner. However, he could also use this
barren run as a motivational force to stick around and lead Arsenal’s trophy chase this coming season.
