Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere has gone on to admit that the Gunners, need to come out strong in the coming season, if they stand any chance of winning a trophy.
He feels that the likes of Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 almost always have a positive start to their season, which the primary reason for them performing as well as they do.
When talking about the coming season, and describing what he feels the team needs to be doing, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international is reported to have said, “The games earlier on don't decide our season but we have got to think that we have to win them, because that
is what champions do. The likes of Manchester United go away and win games and leave you thinking: 'they keep winning and winning' and, at the end of the season, the points tally shows that.”
Despite not starting off the season with a bang, the Gunners seem to almost always end the season on a high. This past season they went on to do the same once again. The team went on to pick up a very impressive twenty six points from their last ten games.
This run of form helped the team secure a top four finish.
He said, “That is what we have to do [to challenge for the title] and we also have to improve our record against the big teams. It has not been great this season and, if you want to become champions, you have to beat those sides.”
At one point in the season, the Gunners were trailing their local rivals Tottenham Hotspur by seven points. However, that brilliant display in the second half of the season seemed to do the trick for the team.
The North London club needs to go on and change things this coming season, they have not won a single trophy for eight years, and for a team of their reputation, that is unacceptable.
Nonetheless, in order for them to win big, they are going to have to play the first half of the season just as well as they play the second half.
