Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463 has been warned by UEFA for his actions on Twitter, as the player was believed to have broken a UEFA betting rule.
The England international went on to be formally warned by the footballing body, as he brought the integrity of the game into disrepute.
Back in December of 2011, the midfielder went on to suggest that it be worth the fans money to place ten pounds on Emmanuel Frimpong, to open the scoring for the Gunners in a Champions League game against Olympiakos.
Wilshere himself went on to miss out on the match due to an injury that he picked up, whereas Frimpong nearly opened the scoring in the game.
The Gunners holding midfielder went on to hit the side netting early on in the game and based on those actions, Wilshere reportedly said: "Frimmy nearly won me some money there!" as Frimpong hit a shot into the side netting with the score still goalless.”
However, the problem that arises is the fact that UEFA have banned players from betting on their own team. At the same time, if players are found to be breaking this rule, they are set to face a long term ban and a fine for their troubles.
"The player has been warned for being in breach of the principles of integrity of matches and competitions," said a spokesman.

"The disciplinary measure was a warning."
The midfielder has already shut down his Twitter account and even took out the Tweets that he left on the page on the same day. It appears as though the player wasn’t aware of the rule and had to later make amends for his actions.
With Wilshere already missing out on the entire season last time around, it is a wonder if he would face a ban in the UEFA Champions League.
Should that happen, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international could potentially go another couple of months before he can play in the European competition again.
Nonetheless, with the rules of player interactions becoming so strict, it wouldn’t be surprising to see clubs introduce moderators for their squad members Twitter accounts.
