Jack wants to weigh no more than 180 pounds when baseball season begins. He has already lost 18 pounds and hopes he can continue losing weight at a rate of 1 pound a week. If Jack weighed 205 pounds before his weight loss, about how many weeks will it take Jack to get down to his desired weight of 180 pounds?

  1. 205-18 -180=7 lbs left or 7 weeks

  2. 7 weeks, i think.  to start with 205 pounds - 18 pounds (already lost).  So, now today his weight is  187 pounds.  Starting today if he does exercise regularly then at the end of the seventh week his weight should exact 187-7 = 180 pounds, because the rate loses is 1 pound a week.  7 weeks can be the answer only if Jack regularly exercises or according to probability  he might gain, be as it is or might lose less then expected.  By the way tell Jack that the baseball season had already started and is about to end soon.  So no need to lose 1 pound per week.  Next season is almost  after a year so tell Jack not to hurry.

  3. 7 weeks.

    250 - 18 - x (<=) 180

    and solve

  4. 7 weeks bro.
