Jackbound thrives in the 450m Grade A1 Heat at Poole on Jan 15
In an exciting 450 metre long Grade A1 race, Jackbound, trained by D.O. Pearce, was declared as the champion at Poole, on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
With the cash prize of £101, the show began at 19:43. It was a Sunday evening, and the atmosphere in the stadium was quite awesome.
Jackbound, the son of Head Bound out of Miggs, stirred thrill in the race with his electrifying run.
His chances to win the contest was 9 to 4, but the black hound did something better than expected. After leaving from the third trap, he reached the winning post in 26.99 seconds, defeating the runner-up by 2 ½ lengths.
The second slot was locked by Hillcrest La La, the daughter of Boherduff Light out of Swift Grace. Although the b***h outplayed rest of the hounds, she could not challenge the winner at any stage during the run.
Kicking off the race with 11 to 2 betting odds, the black b***h, trained by D.G. Mitchell, fell short of the winner, crossing the wire in 27.20 seconds.
The contest for the third place was pretty enjoyable. Lolos Chief, and Blackrock Girl, ran neck to neck, but the latter eventually tasted victory by a head’s distance.
The daughter of Droopys Vieri out of Perfectly Bred was sent at 7 to 1, breaking from the first trap. The white and black b***h made it to the finishing point in 27.43 seconds, finishing third on the table.
Only 0.02 seconds behind Blackrock Girl, Lolos Chief, managed fourth position. His winning chances were 4 to 1, and she took 27.45 seconds to touch the finish line.
D.A. Dodd was the most dejected person on the field, as his hound, Beetle Juicer, exhibited an ordinary show.
With the winning possibility of 2 to 1, the son of Yeah Man out of Pine Hill, was favourite to pocket £101. However, the black dog let his fans down, finishing fifth on the chart, covering the distance in 27.51 seconds.
Three lengths behind Beetle Juicer, Autumn Tornado completed the order of finish.
He was sent off with the odds of 4 to 1, breaking from the fourth stand. P.J. Ruddick’s trainee concluded the action in 27.76 seconds.
After three consecutive third positions, Jackbound has finally grabbed a victory. His trainer will now look to build on this good run for the rest of the season.
