Jackdaw Summer wins 5th Leg Pick 6 Jackpot at Yarmouth
Jackdaw Summer bagged the Grade A1 5th Leg Pick 6 Jackpot event, which took place at Yarmouth track on January 16. It was run over a distance of 462m.

With starting price of 11 to 8, the black dog was the most favourite runner of the event.
The victor had to fight against Beaufort Bound, Amazing Madam, Canvas Max, Swift Larry and Tictac Scrumpy, to wrest the triumph with a huge margin of 3 lengths.
The results of the race were completely according to the predictions.

Nothing was astonishing, but the way the winner ran and finished, amazed the spectators.
The break call came at 20:57. Jackdaw Summer was in trap 2, and he broke ordinarily, hence, taking time to get ahead, but railed furiously in the middle to get into contention.

Once he was ahead of his opponents, the son of Top Honcho beautifully sustained his pace till the last moment. Running aggressively and confidently, the dog bridged the distance in 28.14 seconds.
Trained by I.J. Barnard, the veteran racer made his debut in November 2009, at the same track.

He has won a number of iconic events so far, being whelped in November 2007.
The second position in the race was achieved by Beaufort Bound, who broke from trap number 4.

The black b***h was in the driving seat in the start, but slowed down in the middle, a move that cost her the race.
The trainee of A.C. Wilson finally reached the finish line in 28.39 seconds, trailing by 3 lengths. Whelped in July 2007, the daughter of Beaufort Candy started her career on November 7, 2009.
Amazing Madam finished third in the race with a difference of 3 ¾ lengths. Breaking from trap 5, the black b***h crossed the boundary strap in 28.68 seconds.

Whelped in May 2009, she is trained by D F Glayzer. The daughter of Quare Woman first ran in May 2011 at the same venue.
At the end, the 1st cash prize worth £113 went to Jackdaw Summer, while each of the other five hounds earned £23.
