I will be staying on vacation in Orange County, CA (near Disneyland), and was looking for a nice restaurant for a Saturday evening dinner, where I would be able to dress up in a nice suit. I would spend about $100 before tax, tip, and alcohol. If anyone has suggestions, please provide me the name, city, and website (if they have one). Thanks in advance!

There is a Mortons Steakhouse in Anaheim now as well.

If you are willing to venture farther.....Newport Beach, Fashion Island and Laguna Beach areas have lovely restaurants.

  2. Dress up is almost always optional at restaurants in Southern California.  Most of the restaurants here are directed towards families and are both more affordable and allow casual dress. You can also get away for under $100 depending on how much alcohol or price of the wine you order.   Some of the better restaurants are:

Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel (gourmet steakhouse).  See if they have desert souffles available.  Good wine list.

Hooks Point in the Disneyland Hotel - a bit cheaper but seafood based

Napa Rose in Disneylands Grand Californian Hotel - true California gourmet, great wines but rather expensive.  There is a similar restaurant inside the California Adventure that is outdoors but closes when that park does.  Both have wine pairings with their meals that are excellent choices.  Reservations suggested at both.

The Cellar in Fullerton - French.  I haven't been to this in years but it was excellent and a bit steep.  Coat and tie are a bit more appropiate here.

If you are still looking, there are some restaurants in Newport Beach along PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) that might suit you.
