Jacksonville Jaguars’ Tyson Alualu works on rehab from knee surgery, aims to return this season
A period of ordeal is set to be over for Jacksonville Jaguars’ defensive tackle, Tyson Alualu, who had been unfortunate in the initial couple of years of his professional career, playing through injuries and pain.
After being drafted by Jaguars as the 10th overall pick in 2010, Alualu suffered a knee injury in the preseason and the next two years proved to be very difficult for him, remaining on and off the squad constantly, and had to survive the most
painful and agonising time of his career.
Since having a surgery on his knee during this offseason, the player now hopes to be hundred percent before arrival of the preseason in August and then kick off the new regular season in September this year.
Good news for his team and fans that he has come off the crutches for the last ten days and has been walking around without any problems such as limping or any other issue.
As a matter of fact, he has already started strength building workout since past Tuesday and is experiencing no problem in doing so.
He has expressed excitement over being able to play with full fitness and peace of mind.
Alualu said:
"I’m just excited and looking forward to a great season with two healthy knees."
The player who suffered the injury during his rookie year had an opportunity to undergo a medical procedure on his knee last year, but somehow he decided against it. The decision did not prove to be the right one for him as he had to play through spells
of pain.
This offseason, he discussed the matter with his team officials and they agreed that he should have the surgery and spend the offseason time on recovery and rehab.
He said:
"I felt like from talking to the trainers and having the rest during the offseason, we felt that it would help it to heal and get better and try and be a hundred percent for my second year. It kind of still stuck around and we went ahead with the decision
of getting it better by cleaning it out."
He added:
"I’m kind of taking things slow so that I can come back hundred per cent."
With his new health and fitness, the player is coming back to the brand new Jaguars, with a new owner, new head coach, assistant coaching co-coordinators and other front office staff.
The management and the player hopes that the new beginning marks with the consistent success and growth, in line with the ambitions of the new owner, Shahid Khan.
