Jacksonville Jaguars cut WR Quan Cosby and fullback Will Ta’ufo’ou – NFL News
The Jacksonville Jaguars have introduced some changes to their roster, which more or less are just a formality to give chance to some players at place of the injured ones in the remaining two games of the season.
With only two more games to go, this will be maximum the Jags could progress to this season because with only two wins in the entire season there are not eligible to play in the postseason.
The Jags announced to have placed running back Jordan Todman and defensive end Andre Branch on injured reserve (IR) list. Todman has suffered a calf injury and missed the game versus the Miami Dolphins last weekend. Also absent in the Dolphins game was DE
Branch, who has been carrying a groin injury.
To replace these players on the roster, the Jags said they have promoted linebacker Brandon Marshall, wide receiver Mike Brown and tight end Isaiah Stanback from the practice squad.
Further, they signed offensive lineman Tommie Draheim and wide receiver Brittan Golden to the practice squad, to fill the spaces created by the couple of promotions of the aforementioned players.
Meanwhile, according to the Jags’ update, they have waived wide receiver Quan Cosby and fullback Will Ta’ufo’ou. Will was recently signed to the active roster.
Since the team has promoted three players from the practice squad they have filled three out of total four positions on the roster vacated by the couple of IR list placements and a pair of waivers. One remaining vacant place is going to be taken by linebacker
Daryl Smith, probably, who is due to be activated off the IR list. He has been out of action recently because of a groin problem.
Only a pair of games is left for the Jags this season, and there is nothing much left to play for. With two more losses they will end the season at the worst ever note of 2-14. Their previous worst record is 4-12 since the team’s inauguration in 1995. It
is not good news for the first-year owner Shahid Khan.
