Jacksonville Jaguars disappoint fans with poor home record – NFL News
The Jacksonville Jaguars have lost their both home games of the season, bringing a sheer amount of disappointment for the fans who were hoping that the change of guards at the headquarters will end their pain of seeing their side go through performance disasters
over the past few years.
Since former owner Wayne Weaver sold the franchise to the present one, Shahid Khan, the fans were upbeat about prospects of the Jaguars. So far, they have been let down, and the future does not look bright either.
Although the team has avoided making some abrupt and rash changes with the new owner in first year, the holdovers from regime have shown the same old miserable form. It starts right from quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who in spite of a marginal improvement
has some issues of the rookie year.
It was poor showing of the first-year offence leader Blaine on the starting line that cost former coach Del Rio his job and to an extent helped selling of the franchise. He appears to be the same old Blaine, except for showing signs of improvement inconsistently.
Further, the team is seen to have mishandled the contract matter of running back Maurice Jones-Drew. He has succumbed to the team pressure to return to action unconditionally and with unmet demand of a better payout deal, after missing the entire offseason
programme, but still feels uncompensated for the level of skills he has.
Moreover, coach Mike Mularkey is struggling on his end to get the team along, and some of his strategies ending up as misfired shots. For example, he decided to minimise number of plays for Maurice despite the fact that the player had led them to victory
over the Indianapolis Colts a game earlier, which proved disastrous at the end, and the team lost convincingly to their opposition.
Some other key and talented players, wide receiver Justin Blackmon for example, on the offensive line are yet to click to form while the team continues to suffer defeats. With four games played this season, the Jaguars are at the bottom of American Football
Conference (AFC) South division with a single win to their credit. It poses a big question about their ability to successfully progress in the rest of the season.
