Jacksonville Jaguars expect kicker Josh Scobee for next game – NFL News
Latest scan results have given green signal to Jacksonville Jaguars kicker Josh Scobee to return to his side to play next game on Thursday night into National Football League (NFL) week 15.
The Jaguars are playing their next game against the Atlanta Falcons this Thursday and expected all right with their kicker for the game.
The player was injured in their game against Tampa Bay Buccaneers on past Sunday. The Jaguars won that game 41-14, their first win after change of their head coach Del Rio. Rio was sacked by their outgoing owner Wayne Weaver.
The latest reports of a MRI scan showed that the Scobee injury was not of serious nature and he had been allowed to return to the side. He is expected to join the Jaguars for practice on Wednesday.
The team management confirmed they expected Scobee to be back to their side for their Thursday’s game as there was no fear of his late recovery.
The Jaguars have still three more games to go to finish off their current National Football League (NFL) season, which has been marred with a number of controversies and ups and downs for them.
Having lost three games in a row the Jaguars finally managed to pull up them together against the Bucs last Sunday.
It was their first win under their new coach Mel Tucker. Tucker had been defensive co-ordinator with the Jaguars before Rio’s departure but was promoted to take charge of Rio’s position.
This week he will rule the coaching roster for third game, already losing one and winning one game to his credit.
The Jacksonville Jaguars meanwhile announced to have signed another kicker Brandon Coutu to their practice squad. The player was reported to have been brought in as a cover to Scobee and after Scobee’s return confirmation is unlikely
to be promoted to their active roster. It will however be his first game for the Jaguars if Scobee is absent on Thursday.
The side further said that they have waived their cornerback Talmadge Jackson and offensive lineman George Bussey.
The Jaguars have been introducing changes to their side consistently since announcing of the franchise deal. The team has been sold to Pakistan-born American businessman Shahid Khan in a $760 deal.
Khan however is yet to take over the franchise as it is going through clearance of regulatory and competitive hurdles. The deal is to be declared close on January 06 next year (2012).
