Jacksonville Jaguars hit by injuries before Week 15 game – NFL News
The Jacksonville Jaguars have been hit with the problem of injuries to their key players on eve of their game against the hosts Atlanta Falcons this Thursday night.
The Jaguars (4-9) in the American Football Conference (AFC) south division are coming out of their win over Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Bucs) on past Sunday to face the Falcons with their problems with players’ injuries aggravating further.
The side will be playing the Falcons game without their key six defence linemen, an offensive lineman and backup rookie Chris Prosinski who had been placed on the injured reserve (IR) list due to a broken thumb.
The Jaguars will also be facing absence of their three top cornerbacks due to their respective injuries. The team which had enjoyed the status of being comparatively less injury-prone side is now a line-up with the highest number
of injuries. They have put as many as 27 players on IR list.
Their injuries problem has been aggravated to an extent that they had to reach settlements with five players to keep them on their practice record.
The team management in the meantime has also signed few new players to their squad as a backup. This included Darcel McBath, Taylor Price and Akwasi Owusu-Ansah. They all had been signed during last couple of weeks and could play
an important role in Jaguars game against the Falcons.
"I feel like I got hit by a truck," tight end Marcedes Lewis said. "Whoever is down, somebody else is up. We've got to keep rolling. Who's going to be in there is who's going to be in there."
The news on injuries front does not bode well to Jaguars given the reason that they have already been going through ups and downs lately. This included firing of their head coach Del Rio and some of his staff by the side’s outgoing
owner Wayne Weaver.
This week’s game will be their third under their make-shift coach Mel Tucker. The side has already started reshuffling of players keep in view next year’s preparation with new owner Pakistan-born American businessman Shahid Khan
in place of Wayne Weaver.
The Jaguars have three more games to go before closure of current regular season.
