Jacksonville Jaguars invest $7.5 million on system upgrade at
EverBank Field
– NFL News
The Jacksonville Jaguars have made an investment of $7.5 million on renovation and upgrade work of their EverBank Field facilities and provision of modern mobile phone system is one of the highlights of the work.
A section of media has claimed that the new owner of the team, Shahid Khan, had earlier committed the funds for the team’s facility and the work is expected to complete in the near future.
In addition to spending some amount on the reconstruction and refurbishment of the concrete structure and equipment, a part of the money is spent on the upgrade of the sound system and mobile network available in the stadium.
There were concerns about the mobile phone systems at the stadium as the spectators have often lodged many complaints and the recent work is expected to solve their problems once and for all.
It is for the first time that Jaguars are coming out on the field led by the new owner, new head coach and many fresh players, and the owner has already shown to be committed to the team’s needs in the longer run.
Jaguars’ senior vice president of stadium operations and chief financial officer, Bill Prescott, hopes the system upgrade will have a major impact this year, pointing it out to be long-standing demand of the fans.
He said:
“We all realized the sound system is something that is critical and it took a while to design a system. I think our fans will find that to be the most dramatic improvement.”
Shahid Khan hopes his team is consistent winner on the field and he during his initial remarks had said he would do utmost to make this happen in the near future. He on more than one occasions insisted that money was not a problem for
them but they will go for need-based focused expense that benefits the team in the longer-run.
The need-based focused spending element is apparently witnessed in the players’ hiring as the team has remained very limited in dolling out money on the players.
