Jacksonville Jaguars keep mum over Terrance Knighton’s injury as family confirms him in good spirits
Jacksonville Jaguars’ management has kept a mum over the controversial eye injury of their defensive tackle, Terrance Knighton, while his mother, Rochelle Knighton, claimed that her son was in good spirits.
Knighton was reported to have had an eye surgery a day earlier. No other details around the surgery or how the injury had come about was made public by the team or circles near the player.
Still, there is no information if the player was involved in any brawl or any other accident that made him undergo the medial procedure on his eye.
It was only the sketchy information on Knighton’s Twitter account that confirmed him being in the Pure Nightclub in Jacksonville. Nothing much has been said or written since then.
According to the management, it was gathering information on the ‘incident’, and will only be able to disclose any details of the injury and surgery once they acquire complete information.
The earlier statement released by Jaguars reads:
"We are in the process of gathering information about what happened and are not able to further comment at this time. Our concern and our focus is on Terrance and his health and recovery."
With Jaguars maintaining a mum since then, the player’s mother has told a local newspaper that her son was doing fine and is in good spirits.
She said:
"I have faith, and I didn't lose my son. So that's really all that matters."
Rochelle also did not throw light on the details of the actual incident.
She, however, claimed that the injury was actually in the player’s eye, which required him to undergo the medical procedure.
She hopes to know more details of the incident, nature of the injury and recovery timeline of his son after a scheduled visit of the doctor, which until filing of this report was very much awaited.
Meanwhile, a local television network, in one of broadcasts earlier, claimed that Knighton has said that the recovery process was going to consume rather lengthy period of time.
Again, the information around the incident remains so thin that leaves the happening of the actual incident to all the possibilities including scuffle with any other person at the club or any other accident.
The situation is expected to be clearer only after the team comes with a formal statement highlighting all aspects of the incident.
Knighton’s family members, teammates and fans are hoping that all is well with the player and he soon rejoins the squad.
The reports of the injury to the player’s eye and surgery had come rather as a surprise for the team. There are fears among the management that he might be involved in an unpleasant situation at the club, which had resulted in the eye injury. The dearth
of the details is feeding these fears more to be true.
