Jacksonville Jaguars make more changes to side, announce a waiver and new signee – NFL News
The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Thursday to have further reshuffled their side following exit of their coach and selling of the team to a new owner.
The team management said that they have waived their starting receiver Jason Hill and signed running back DuJuan Harris from practice squad to their active roster.
The changes are seen as the start of Jaguars’ building process for the next season, which had started with firing of their coach Del Rio.
Hill who was not claimed by any other franchise until yesterday had a comparatively disappointing season. He caught total 25 passes for 367 yards. He also has three touchdowns to his credit. He however dropped several balls along
the way.
With a number of changes already been introduced to their team, the Jaguars are seen to have started revamping process. Other players which are expected to be on the field for evaluation include Jarret Dillard, Brian Robiskie,
Cecil Shorts and Chastin West.
Meanwhile the Jaguars also announced to have signed a free agent cornerback Morgan Trent. They further said that they have placed their safety Courtney Greene on injured reserve list. It is being expected that Greene is ruled out
for rest of current National Football League (NFL) season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are hosting San Diego Chargers this Monday night. This will be their first game after firing of Del Rio from coaching job, selling of the team and on-going reshuffling of the side.
It is however not clear that Blaine Gabbert who had been the main source of criticism against Del Rio will continue to start in the game against the Chargers. Gabbert had made eight consecutive starts for the Jaguars this season,
losing seven of them.
He had consistent backing of former coach Del Rio, who insisted that player had not been given enough opportunities to perform to his potential.
It has been voiced from a number of commentators that Blaine needed more coaching in his starting role. It is now to see how Gabbert performances if the Jaguars continue to rely on him and he starts for them in their game against
the Chargers this Monday night.
