Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan backs team despite losses – NFL News
In a rare show of support the Jacksonville Jaguars’ owner Shahid Khan has thrown weight behind the team in the losing times, while reflecting the current losing streak of the team in the mirror of business losses and gains.
The Jaguars are with only one win and the season is half gone, and recently some commentators suggested that Khan might have been planning a rash overhaul of side.
The owner while ruling out the possibility of knee-jerk reaction said:
"You don't show up at 16 from Pakistan and have a successful life. You go through a lot of adversity and failures. You learn from that, and probably the most important thing is not to have knee-jerk reactions when things get tough -- not to add drama to
uncertainty."
He added:
"There are certain companies and organizations that win over time and certain companies and organizations that lose over time. It doesn't matter whether it's auto parts or football, you know which organizations are where. The most important thing for me
is that this organization that's going to win over time."
Although the owner’s views have cleared the clouds of an uncertainty to an extent, the room for some changes is there. For example, the team has decided the future of their quarterback Blaine Gabbert who has been failing them consistently.
Since coaches are most prone to losing their job whenever a team fails, Mike Mularkey can also be sent packing. This however is unlikely coming while the season is still in progress. The most suitable time for the team is end of the season when final review
of the performances is done.
Still there are a few more games to go in the regular season and who knows the Jaguars perform miraculously well and put up a decent tally on the league’s final chart, although it looks impossible.
The owner nevertheless has provided some sort of confidence to the players and a direction to do better. It is time that the team must come together and perform well.
