Jacksonville Jaguars reshuffle squad, add new QB Jordan Palmer at no 3 position-NFL News
Jacksonville Jaguars’ quarterback, Jordan Palmer, has got another opportunity to work with his former offensive coordinator, Bob Bratkowski, after the player signed a deal with the team following his participation in the team’s rookie camp a week ago.
Palmer has worked with Bob during his four-season stay at the Cincinnati Bengals, while he was the offensive assistant coach there.
Both the management and player have confirmed signing of the deal without disclosing its terms, including value and tenure.
Most likely, he will be working behind the number one quarterback, Blaine Gabbert, and his backup, Chad Henne.
There could be some shuffling at the quarterback position if Gabbert, who will play his second season with the team in 2012, struggles with his form and consistency during the team’s training camp this summer.
For the time being, Jordan, who is the younger brother of Oakland Raiders’ quarterback, Carson Palmer, looks to be placed at the number three position.
Just like the Indianapolis Colts, Jaguars will come into the 2012 National Football League (NFL) season with new faces in the line-up and management. The team even has a new owner, Shahid Khan.
The owner and new managers have set great hopes for a better performance from the team.
New head coach, Mike Mularkey is particularly confident of transforming the side as consistent winners on the field.
Meanwhile, Jaguars also disclosed signing another half a dozen players to the squad.
All those who have been added to the side attended the team’s rookie camp last week.
The new signees include defensive tackle, Odrick Ray, linebacker, Donovan Richard, fullback, Naufahu Tahi, receivers’ Mike Brown and Chris Forcier, and defensive back, Jeremiah Brown.
On the other hand, Jaguars also waived a few players. Those released are defensive end, Frank Trotter, receivers Jarrett Boykin, Nelson Rosario and Jarett Dillard, quarterback, Dan LeFevour and safety Akwasi Owusu-Ansah.
