Jacob Hansford wins Men’s 200m butterfly title: Australia State Teams Age Group SC Championships
NSW’s Jacob Hansford and VIC’s Jessica Hansen put up stunning performances on day two of the 2011 Australia State Teams Age Group Short Course Championships in Canberra, Australia, on Sunday, September 18. The session of the meet conducted the Men’s 200m
butterfly and Women’s 100m breast-stroke final heats.
Hansford hit the finishing wall in 2 minutes and 04.06 seconds to win the Men’s 200m butterfly title on the podium. In the corresponding race, Andrew Walker of WA secured the silver medal on the podium by posting a winning time of 2 minutes and 05.35 seconds.
Ho Ka Kwong of QLD settled for bronze in a time of 2 minutes and 06.53 seconds. Hami Mcdougall of VIC finished fourth in a time of 2 minutes and 06.79 seconds, while Damian Fyfe of WA was placed fifth in a time of 2 minutes and 08.01 seconds.
Ryan Leonard of NSW earned sixth place honours in a time of 2 minutes and 09.23 seconds. Josh Mcdermott of TAS was placed seventh in a time of 2 minutes and 11.79 seconds, whereas, Max Muggeridge of QLD earned eighth spot in a time of 2 minutes and 12.41
seconds. Joachi Bardrum of NSW was placed ninth in of 2 minutes and 13.35 seconds. Nicholas Brown of WA was placed tenth after he ended his swim in a time of 2 minutes and 13.74 seconds.
In the meantime, the Women’s 100m breast-stroke title was taken over by VIC’s Jessica Hansen with a winning time of 1 minutes and 07.83 seconds. In the corresponding splash, Taylor Mckeown of QLD earned silver in a time of 1 minute and 09.96 seconds, while
Hanna Beighton of QLD settled for bronze in a time of 1 minute and 09.99 seconds.
Lily Collins of VIC was placed fourth in a time of 1 minute and 10.34 seconds, while Emma Newell of TAS finished fifth in 1 minute and 10.40 seconds. Ashleigh Steed of NSW settled for sixth spot after she touched the wall in a time of 1 minute and 11.12
seconds.
