Jacob Oram eying comeback into New Zealand cricket before ICC World Cup 2011
Jacob Oram is hopeful to make a successful comeback to his team after having injury problems. The experienced all-rounder had been struggling a lot with injury issues, which have haunted him throughout his career.
Oram had a knee injury and he had to go through a surgery in September due to which he has been out of action for a long time. His team is currently struggling against India after losing both the Test and the One Day series against them. Oram would be hopeful
to recover in time before the World Cup, which will be held in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in 2011.
Similarly to Oram, the pace ace of New Zealand Shane Bond had too many injury issues, which eventually forced the player to retire from international cricket. Bond had an abdominal strain after which he decided that he has had enough and he called it a day.
The all-rounder Oram says that he is in the same frame of mind as the fast bowler Bond was in, which caused him to retire sooner than expected.
Jacob Oram claimed that the upcoming World cup is the only motivation that has kept his hopes alive to make a comeback in the team. If the World cup was not so near, the experienced all-rounder would have retired from cricket without giving any further thought
to it.
Oram would love to participate for one more World cup and perform for his team which has been struggling in recent months. Oram said that he would give his best to perform well and stay fit during the World cup if he is selected in the squad.
Oram said that if he would not be able to make it to the final squad of the World cup, he would most probably quit the game as he is only eying the World cup and is looking to regain form and fitness for the Mega event. On the other hand the struggling New
Zealand team would also hope for the all-rounder to be fit for the tournament and perform at his very best in the tournament.
Oram has had many injuries including injuries of back, tendon, calf and knee. He had a tendon injury during the tri-series against in Sri-Lanka in August. He had to go through a surgery to recover from that.
The surgery was done in September. Oram would not be able to regain fitness for the T-20 matches against Pakistan, which his team is scheduled to play later this December. However, he would be able to participate in the domestic T-20 tournament, which would
take place after Christmas.
The New Zealand cricket team has had a very bad outing in the last few months and their players have been haunted by injuries. The team would hope that the experienced all-rounder would be able to recover in time and prove his form and fitness to the management
and the selectors.
Oram may be the answer to the ongoing bad form http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 in the Test or the One Day matches to gain some match practice
and to find out where he stands at international level after making a comeback to the team.
