New Zealand’s all-rounder, Jacob Oram, is confident that he will lead a well equipped Kiwi squad to its first ever win at the upcoming 12-team Karp Group Hong Kong Cricket Sixes which kicks off on October 28, 2011 at the Kowloon Cricket Club.
Based on reports, Oram has been handed over a roster of talented players, including dangermen, Nathan McCullum and James Franklin, and that all have been playing at national level for New Zealand, across all formats.
“We have put together a competitive squad and will go into the tournament with high hopes of winning,” said Oram, who is known for his exceptional ability to whack some hard knocks as well as make his way with the ball, as a medium pacer.
"A number of players have international experience but we also have a couple of young guys who will be representing their country for the first time," Oram added.
During their past performances on the limited overs competition, the New Zealand squad has never won the Sixes cup, however, with an overhauled arsenal of players, Oram feels that his team will stand strong and is worthy to secure the appealing US$50,000
prize win.
“We have a very good line up all-rounders and I'm confident we have the squad to win the tournament,” stated the all rounder.
However, come October 28, Oram also expressed his excitement for making his debut at the Sixes competition stating “I love the format as its quick and entertaining and I look forward to experiencing the culture and all that Hong Kong has to offer.”
The Black Caps have been placed in Pool A of the competition – where other teams include, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 and Hong
