Jacobson holds a press conference at the TPC River Highlands
The celebrity Pro-Am started off on Wednesday, and soon the defending champion, Fredrik Jacobson arrived. Jacobson teed off at noon with his Pro-Am group.
Before the Pro-Am, the Swede met the media and the people.
At the US Open, Jacobson put up a strong performance and finished T15 at the Olympic Golf Course. He shot a 6-over par.
It was a decent effort by a guy who is facing some issues with his back but he appeared to be quite comfortable in San Francisco.
Jacobson enjoyed playing at the Olympic Golf Course. Although it was a difficult course, but Jacobson managed the task well, making those difficult shots almost at every hole.
Returning to TPC River Highlands as a defending champion is a great feat for the Swede, but he has had a hectic few days.
He came from West coast on Monday. On Tuesday, he spent doing laundry and on Wednesday he hit the golf course.
In the media and in Connecticut, in general, there was not any news regarding the defending champion.
On the golf course, it was the group that had the biggest fan following had the best day. It was the group featuring Bill Murray, Scott Burrell and the famous sportscaster Ahmad Rashad, came in at the 18-under par.
Apart from Jacobson, there are many other players from PGA Tour who will be hitting the golf course, players like Vijay Singh, Webb Simpson, Keegan Bradley and Padraig Harrington.
Bubba Watson, who won the Masters, believes that all the attention will be on him and he would have more fan following.
The temperatures are expected to rise as the tournament moves forward. Alongside, it will become more hot and humid out on the golf course.
While talking to media, Jacobson said, “It feels good, obviously, coming back to Hartford. I have got a lot of good memories from last year, it is just fun to come back to a place where I obviously reached one of my milestones last year”,
Jacobson will be hoping to repeat the last year’s performance that earned him the victory at the TPC River Highlands.
