Jacoby Ellsbury trade?Was this a good decision?

ok i just traded miguel cabrera and received jacoby ellsbury....i think this was a good decision on my part....i really needed that number one OF and he needed a 1B and i think i won this one by a longshot

i know cabrera is in a slump and is a HR hitter and will get on abse a lot but it would even out when ellsbury gets all of those SB....

do you think i won this trade?

you definitely lost this trade buddy sorry to say. even though cabrera is in a slump he will still hit over .300 this year with tons of homers and rbi's. no matter what ellsbury does he will finish behind cabrera in fantasy points this year. (unless ellsbury starts hitting .300 with more rbi's. the only and i repeat only reason he is ranked so high in fantasy is cause of the number of stolen bases he has. not a good deal man sorry.

I don't believe you were hurting badly enough in the SB department to make this move.  If you had a lot of power on the team already and really needed steals, I would then say it was a deal that made sense for you.  But seeing your outfield, it seems like you have a little speed already.

Who knows, stranger things have happened, Ellsbury could possibly have a better all around season than Cabrera.  As I was watching the Tigers-Cards series that just ended, it looked like Cabrera wanted to be anywhere but on the field playing baseball, so he may care so little he may end up slumping all season and never really put up the great numbers.

I'm a die hard Red Sox fan and love Ellsbury but you lost this trade BIG. You already have 3 decent outfielders....why would you need Ellsbury when Crawford is gonna steal bases for you. Cabrera will hit 30 homers and drive in 100 runs so you will lose at least 25 hr's and probably 35-45 rbi's. You should have asked before you did this trade. I would rate this trade a 2 and your outfield a 6.
