Jacoby transfer or Stayman

My partner and I discussed this one and we would use the transfer and then bid 4NT invitational to slam either in NT or the suit. Although 16+ is a little vague. If you have 16, slam is there if partner is max. If you have 18, you have the points for same slam in NT, max or not. So with that I'd probably transfer, then bid 6 NT. With a good suit fit and a max, partner could correct to the grand slam. Or with enough more, just bid the 7NT.

I'm interested to see what others say about this one. I don't see any reason to bid Stayman, though. The transfer offers a major suit fit option to the partner if there isn't quite enough point count for the slam in NT.
